About
My name is Jena Kemp, and I am the founder and owner of Equipped. I have been married to my husband Chad for 15 years and we are proud parents to four wonderful children. I have a passion for staying active and deeply value the time spent with my family. As a speech-language pathologist with 18 years of experience, I have worked in both public schools and pediatric home health settings. My expertise encompasses a wide range of disorders, from mild to complex, with a specialization in language and articulation disorders, as well as social and pragmatic communication.
Our Story

In addition to my professional experience, my youngest child has Down syndrome. This has given me the unique perspective to view pediatric therapy from both the therapist and parental lens. I have seen on both sides how difficult quality therapy can be to access. The school system is a great resource, but limited time and personnel often result in less-than-optimal service delivery. Outpatient and home health options provide more frequency and one-on-one delivery, but they can be very costly with high insurance premiums and deductibles, or plans that do not include speech therapy services. Additionally, you are required to pay even on those days your child isn't feeling up to participating. All these obstacles result in children not getting the therapy services they need. I believe the answer to this problem is providing exceptional teaching and training to parents on a regular basis to equip them in helping their children meet their speech and language needs.

Payment Information
To provide individualized care without insurance limitations, our practice operates on a self-pay basis and does not directly bill insurance companies. By remaining a self-pay practice, we are able to offer personalized therapy services tailored to each client's needs rather than insurance-driven treatment restrictions. Payment is due at the time of service.
